Re-pointing Do’s and Don’ts:
- If you have a 32mm point, it should be 26mm out of dart (that’s 6mm inside barrel)
- If you have a 36mm point, it should be 30mm out of dart (that’s 6mm inside barrel)
- If you have a 38mm point, it should be 32mm out of dart (that’s 6mm inside barrel)
- Allways point to the above depths with those point sizes
- Allways use a proper re-pointing machine, such as the Target Multi-pointer
- Don’t try and leaver out on a vice
- We don’t recommend drilling your darts out yourself
- We don’t recommend soaking them in vinegar to soften
We know that re-pointing can be tricky therefore if you want to repoint your barrel, please check out this video which features a step by step guide as to how to re-point your darts, using the Target Multipointer machine.
It’s important to minimise point breakages by repointing your darts correctly, this video highlights some of the common issues and how to avoid them. Re-pointing darts is not covered within our lifetime barrel guarantee and when a point breaks flush with the barrel it can be very difficult to remove.
If you do break a point flush with the barrel during play, please contact Target darts directly.
